Wow...

First of all I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!
Mine was fabulous as always, but I think it just gets
better the older the kids get, I love it more... I love it
when everyone is here and just hanging out... doing
nothing but all the same doing something! It really was
a great day! And of course Santa was very good to me
and everyone it was just great! I have been a bit under
the weather lately, nothing too serious but just not feeling
great so I have been laying a little bit low... so if you have
all been wondering where in the world the January
layout is, it is coming I promise... I probably won't get
it out until later next week though so don't panic! not
yet anyways! It has been really busy though, I can
hardly believe it, where has the time gone though??
So just incase I don't talk to anyone in the next couple
of days i wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEARS!
All the best for 2007, you gals have made this an
unbelievable year!!! A great big Thanks from the bottom
of my heart! Hope to talk to everyone real soon!
Cheers!

What a week....

So every year i know that Christmas is coming! and...
every year I wait until the very last minute, then I ask
myself WHY do I do this every single year!!!! The mall
is crazy the traffic is insane and here i am doing it all over
again! CRAZY! I know that I do work better under pressure
but really this is CRAZY!!! On a lighter note how is everyone
doing with their shopping? Are you done? Are you ready for
Christmas? I really do LOVE this time of year, Love
just enjoying Christmas day (after the shopping is done!) It
seems like it is the only time of year that you don't have to feel
guilty about doing nothing!!!! Hope everyone has a great day!
I have to clean my house a bit more and then get a bit more done
for Christmas!
Talk to you all later!

Here is a great idea...
I know most of you probably have all your
Christmas decorating done but found this idea
and had to share it!! Isn't this great! I can't take
the credit for it cause like I said I found it but
I really like it! All you need is a cookie sheet,
some cool christmas embellies and some great
Christmas paper, like the basic grey Christmas
stuff. Paint the cookie sheet, mark out your calendar
grid add all your funky numbers, words, and the rest
of whatever you have, tie a great bow at the top and
there you have it...another great Christmas decoration!
Have fun and if you guys do one send it to me I wanna see
it!!
Have a great day gals!

Here it is....
Hey girls... So this is the coolest thing ever! I had no idea
what a R.a.k. was until I was on someones blog...(Thanks Tannis, great idea!) It is a random act of kindness.
So i got thinking what a great idea it was and thought about what i would like
to give away for a R.a.k. So here it is, an altered cd. You get everything you see
here on the cd, except the picture of course! These little kits make great gifts, i
started the tradition last year and i know everyone has enjoyed them! They are
also for sale for $12.00 if anyone is interested! I have 3 to give away though
so at 10:00 tonight I will draw 3 names!!! How cool is this....
Good luck ladies, and please make sure that I have your e-mail addresses
so that I can contact you and get your addies to send you your gift!! Have a great
day ladies!

Here are some pics...

Here are a couple pics of one of the handmade albums! I love them and most ladies

that have done this class would never use a store bought album again... but

it is definately a personal preference. They don't have page protectors, mainly

because I don't like them, I like the look of "old" scrapbooks way better than

perfect scrapbooks! I am sure most of you can see that by my "shabby" layouts

But this is the style that I love! I will be having a class in January, maybe two
so let me know if you are interested I will put your name down on the list and let
you know when I will be having it!
Thanks!
Lynn
p.s. I will be posting the R.a.k. sometime this week so be sure to post so you have
a chance to win!

Hey ladies! Thanks for all the comments! As far as the pics go of the albums Blogger won't let me post tonight maybe tomorrow!
Talk to you then, or maybe I will try later!
Cheers,

Lynn

Layouts looking for a good home....(in my albums of course)
One of the topics of conversation over at L2S today was if all your layouts were in an album...
My reply was that I had 100-150 layouts needing a home, It isn't that I don't have anywhere to put them because I always make my own albums... it is just the time! Maybe that will have to be a new years resolution, to get all my layouts in to the albums!! So ladies I might have to add another album making class, i know I already have the one planned for January but I highly doubt one or even two albums is going to house all these layouts! Also on the wall behind where these little layouts sit is anther whole wall of layouts! Where to start.... Have a really good weekend ladies, for those of you coming to the pizza party, see you tomorrow night! for the rest talk to you soon,
Cheers,
Lynn
p.s. I will be posting the R.a.k very soon so keep posting!

I know I know....

okay so I know that i need glasses.... I have needed them for years but you know how it is, i am a procrastinator. I also don't get out much, so last night my girls and me are invited to a purse party, yes I said purse. Actually some of them were kind of cute, they were knock offs of the real thing. It was out in Airdrie, for those of you that don't know where that is it is only about a half hour or a little more. I figured since I was driving I better at least put my contacs in.... do you think I could find them? Not likely(shows how often i wear them) So after looking in the only places i could even think where they might be, Manda tells me that Cody needed a case last time he was here and NO there were no contacs in there.... So he either didn't see them or they flushed them hoping i would never notice... BRATS! Anyway it was fine, Shalaina told me I was driving like a Grandma but other than that it was totally o.k. I didn't hit anything or run the truck up on any curbs so Life was good.... talk to you all later.....
cheers!

FRIDAY..........

so glad it is Friday, I don't have to do anything today if I don't want to and the best part of all I don't have to wake anyone up in the morning.... Poor Cole I am sure he is so sick of me going in to his room in the morning and pretty much dragging, yes dragging the poor guy out of bed... Every morning I think to myself there has to be an easier way to get this guy out of bed! He can get up at 6:00 am for Hockey but that is totally it! This is the layout for the Calendar club class! If you need to know picture sizes let me know! I did send them out in an e-mail but just in case you didn't get it!
Have a great weekend ladies!
Cheers,
Lynn
p.s. If you haven't had a chance to check out the new "blogging"ladies blogs, make sure you do they are amazing! Just click on their names and it will bring their blog up!!

She is totally in to it! She will tell me about a part of the book and I am like I totally know what happens next!! Hilarious!!
Have a great night ladies!!

Here's a new favorite...

Here is one of my new favorites that I just finished!! Reminds me of how fast life goes and that I am getting older.... not old... just older! The kids made comments this weekend about remembering things that happened when they were "little"! I felt like saying wait a minute you are still little! Not really, Shalaina, the Baby is ten!! Where in the world does it go!
O.K. maybe I am getting OLD!

So Fun...
Happy Monday Everyone!

Cole and Shalaina hd so much fun on this hill by our house. I got to stay home and clean the house! Not much fun on my end but they sure had a great time! When they got home they were cold, wet and whiny!! Is it worth it for an hour of quiet? not sure...

Thursday, November 09, 2006

Reminising Again...

So we went today, (even though the weather was nasty!) to give Shalaina some lunch....(I didn't have the heart to give the poor thing the same old lunch) We got there a bit early and she says....awwww mom, I wanted you to watch me be a patrol today.... awwww how cute is this!!! So I told her o.k. we will wait across the street and watch you! It was the cutest thing ever, here she was her legs couldn't stop moving and she was prancing around there like she was the Queen!! Too cute... Reminded me of WAYYYY back when I was a patrol!! I know can you just picture it! I too thought I was the queen bee, quite hilarious... Anyway better get back to work but thought that I better post something today!!!
Talk to you later,

Lynn

TOTAL CHAOS......
Have you ever seen such a mess? I don't know how I even find anything in this disaster.... So first thing that I have to do is go and clean it up!! At least so that I can work and not get so stressed. Holy!!! Anyways.... things are crazy busy still but everything is coming together! Sorry to those of you in the Calendar club I know that I haven't been very good at sending layouts and I do apologize but there are so many things to get done!! Like for instance a poster is due tomorrow on the Rainforest in Brazil like what in the world do I know about this topic??? Anyway it looks like I will be finding out rather quickly since my darling little Cole hasn't even started it and it is due tomorrow!!( i hope his teacher isn't reading this!!) Life!!! with all these kids, good thing 2 of them are finished school otherwise I would have no time at all to scrapbook!! Well I better run along, back to work and see if I can get something accomplished!!! Oh by the way, those great little organizer bags at Michaels, i finally broke down and got one!!! They are on sale this week so I thought it might be good for classes and stuff, keep everything in one spot maybe!! We'll see but they are really cute!! I figured if you ladies have one then I wanted one too!!lol... Anyway talk to you soon,

Lynn

Friday, November 03, 2006

here's to my anonymous blogger! You would have won something if you would have signed who you are!!!lol You know I love that quote! I know that it is a long way for you to come to classes but you would love all the ladies that come, bring a friend you may realize that scrappin is your new favorite thing to do...
Anyways to everyone.....
Here is a great soup recipe that I just tried, everyone loved it here, well except for Cole!

Creamy Cheddar Chowder
2 cups boiling water 1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups diced potatoes 1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup chopped onions 3/4 tsp dill weed
1/2 cup finely chopped brocolli 1/4 tsp nutmeg

(I didn't add brocolli, and it was just fine)
add boiling water to veggies and seasoning. Cover and simmer 10 - 15 minutes. doesn't need to boil
white sauce:
1/4 cup butter 2 cups milk
1/3 cup flour 2 cups shredded cheese

make white sauce with butter, flour, milk then add cheese. stirring constantly until cheese melts, cook it for a bit until it gets thick. Add the chhes sauce to the veggies, cook for about another 10 minutes, serve with cheese biscuits and a salad, makes a great easy meal

Hope everyone enjoys this!
Talk to you next week!
Cheers!

I am down to four quotes........

So I definately didn't think this would be this hard..... You guys all came up with some great quotes, and I may need to pick more than one! I am also trying to post some great Halloween pictures(not) actually my little darlings didn't decide until the last minute that they were even going to dress up! Sharla askd yesterday morning what she could dress up as! Uh Hello you have to leave for school right now! Needless to say she didn't dress up and then Cole decided as I was making supper last night that he needed a wig!!!! Of to Wal-mart right after supper with Rob! I don't think he was amused at all. I told him it would have been nice for a bit of a warning, he told me that I should have known he would need a wig!!!Needless to say I have the most pathetic Halloween pictures ever! Anyways back to my perfect world and contemplating these great quotes.... I will publish the winner later on today!
Thanks Girls,

Lynn

A TIME TO BE THANKFUL...

Thanksgiving is definately a time to reflect on all the blessings that we have in our lives. A roof over our heads, healthy children, a great husband, and so many other things that I am truly greatful for. This picture reminds me of all of that. Don't get me wrong we all have our moments it is not always perfect but for the most time we are always there for each other.
Life has been crazy around here, getting ready for lots of classes in October as well as the Fall Festival right around the corner and then we are in to November! I can hardly believe it! Time flies! The little renovations are coming along, still a little bit to do but I do have baseboard now so that is pretty exciting! My fireplace still isn't totally complete but I promise to post it as soon as it is. I had to let you all know that I am totally impressed by all of your blogs. I love to read them and most of them i can figure out who you are. Cynthia, thanks for taking the time i know how busy you are with your little munchkins! Thanks!

This is the picture that I used for the Fall Festival layout. Look through your pictures and find the perfect picture! Can't find one? Take one!
I was thinking of a Journey, the destination, where are we going? Think about it........
Cheers, talk to you soon,

Lynn

In the mood for some change!

o.k. so right now I am in the middle of LOTS of projects! Too many in fact. I have been wanting to change the colour of my fireplace for about 7 years! I HATE oak! I know people call me crazy but it is so boring! It is time to add some colour and make this place a little bit more exciting! The other day Rob(the biggest sweetheart ever) changed the colour to white. Actually it is a bit off white and I love it! Then with those great family pictures i am framing a big print, adding some decorating and voila! hopefully the finished project will be exactly wht i am looking for. I will post a picture next week when it i complete! Can't wait! I have been super busy designing some really great stuff so keep posted to the website if you don't get my regular e-mails. If you are interested in getting regular e-mails just send me a quick e-mail and i will add you to the list! Lots of fun! There is also one other thing that has been on my mind. The other day Rob went to the coffee pot to make our regular pot of morning coffee (we sit ever single morning before the kids get up and have coffee and a blether(scottish for chat) He mentioned that his PET PEEVE (I am sure it is his only one! lol) is changing the coffee filter! Like how come when i am doing the dishes I can't quickly rinse out the coffee filter? I really couldn't answer cause i really don't know why, just have never thought about it! Anyone have any pet peeves out there? Let's share!
talk to you soon,
cheers

It is good to have and end to Journey towards, but it is the Journey that will matter in the end"

I love this quote! It reminds of how careful we need to be what we do with our lives now! Life is so busy that I wonder if we even have time to think much about what we are doing, what we want to be doing, and what we should be doing! Once again tonight our supper table was very quiet. Actually Rob and I started having supper by ourselves and talked about what it will be like when we are 60!(scary thought) unfortunately I am sure that won't be that far off! Well maybe a few years yet! It won't be too terribly long from now and it will be lots quieter, well thanks to Mandas reminder and she will be bringing all of her children over! Thankfully we have scrapbooking and photos to remind us of days gone by, for that I am grateful! Remember to take lots of pictures! Going through some old scrapbooks tonight, I was so glad that I had the memories, even though it is very old style scrapbooking, the memories are still there. Remember the reason why we are scrapbooking, because we love it! It's back to my quiet little sanctuary to finish up the cutest layout with one of my new pictures(thanks again Tere!) Talk to you all soon!
Cheers!

Endless Gratitude...
Do you ever feel like you are not "THANKFUL"
enough? Looking at this picture made me think
that there are definately days like that! Sitting
at the kitchen table on Monday night, there were
three of us for supper out of seven. I couldn't help
but feel a little sad to think of my family growing
up. I realized right at that moment that our lives
are changing! I never realized how much i would
miss the total CHAOS at supper time! Call me crazy(maybe I am a bit) but I truly miss all the
little (and big) noises of all the kids hanging around, and just being KIDS. It also made me realize that we can't take one single moment for granted. So for all of you out there have small children, enjoy the days of noise, enjoy the moments when they are attached to your hip because believe me it is gone in the blink of an eye. Someone asked me the other day, what is the secret to being a close family? My response to that is to just truly enjoy the moments, keep the communication with your kids open always, and just LOVE each other! Hope you enjoy this picture! I love it! It is one of many that Tere took of our family! Anyone looking for a photographer, check out her website! She made it so much fun, even the kids loved it! Her website is www.terephotography.com. Enjoy the day everyone!
Cheers!

How much fun was this!

We had the best day ever on Saturday! It started out by having family pictures at 11:00 a.m with the best photographer ever I might add! It was Shawn's 18th birthday yesterday and I thought it would be great idea to finally get family pictures, I should get them this week and I can hardly wait to see them! Anyone looking for a photographer? Her name is Tere, there is a link on my website to her website, and I highly recommend her. She kept us all quite entertained! After that the 7 of us went to BP for lunch, that was special, well until the bill came, these kids are expensive! It was for a good cause I guess, Thank goodness there are not that many birthdays in one year! Then we went to the mall, Shawn was looking for something for us to buy him, what a Birthday present! Needless to say he found nothing! What he was really looking for was a very expensive pair of jeans, thankfully they were not to be found! Next we went to my mom and dads house for supper and the evening! We had a fabulous time. Lots of relatives from Scotland here and they know how to "PARTY" anyway we had a great time. Kareoke started about 9:00 and went for a couple of hours! It was lots of fun and I ws spending it with my favorite cousin! (sorry Gary but last night Caroline won the prize for being the best) She is leaving on Tuesday so we will have a little Teary session at the airport i am sure! The picture is of me and her at the party, I of course am much younger! lol! Well it is back to classes this week, I am looking forward to getting back at it and there is so much fun stuff coming up! Feel free to blog or e-mail anytime I love to know what everyone is up to. As soon as I get our pics back I will share some and let you guys see how great Tere is!
Cheers

Here is the new Canadian Scrapbooker magazine! It is a good magazine and totally canadian! It is nice to be able to check out all the different canadian websites out to see what is out there. I think all the local scrapbook stores probably have it by now so make sure you pick one up!

Hey Ladies! As you can see i am not being very good at keeping this updated but i am just trying to enjoy this last little bit of nice weather! It has been really hectic but by the beginning of next week when my little angels all head out the door i promise to get things organized and get some work done! When I got my mail this morning my September issue of Canadian Scrapbooker was in there and the layout looks great! Don't wait too long to get your issue because i know that they always sell out fast! There is also a little ad in there on page 71. May(my web designer) did it and I think she did a fabulous job! Let me know what you think when you see it! Enjoy these last few hot sunny days and I will talk to you girls next week!
Thanks a bunch

I have had many e-mails this week from those of you wondering how to "blog". It really is quite simple, all you have to do is go on to Lets chat, a box will come up where you can leave your comment. You do not have to be logged in or have an account. Simply click on th little circle under anonymous and then the box will come up again, write your message hit preview and then publish. You don't even have to sign your name if you don't want. It is great for me to see some of the feedback as well as any other info published on there. Thanks Ladies, hope this helps!

Hey girls! Just back from holidays and what a holiday it was! Rob and I decided that it would be fun just to hang out with our kids and there friends, what we didn't realize was how many friends they actually had! Some mornings there were about 20 for breakfast and most of you that know me, know that mornings are definately not my favorite time of day! Anyways all in all the holiday was pretty good, everytime we come home from the lake I always wish that I was still there, so it must have been alright! Another thing that we do every year is try to figure out how to buy some lakefront property! I wonder if everyone does this or if is just part of my unrealistic side? Anyway it is about time to get back at it! Thanks for all the encouraging e-mails throughout the summer they have been great! Remember the fall festival coming up, i will be sending out some info shortly on that and the September schedule should be out soon as well! talk to you guys soon,

Lynn
