10th art journal card and.....

some help needed...

Hey ladies, hope everyone is having a good week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well yesterday was short skirts and flip flops and today it is snowsuit
weather! Welcome to Calgary! The sunny south is calling my name, at least
I think I hear it calling my name...lol! So this post is for two reasons, one
to share my 10th journal card... and... if you can see the picture I know it is small but it is
a picture of my studio that is a complete disaster!!!!!!! My friend Kathy e-mailed me last week and
we were taking about organizing our rooms and just different things that would make our rooms
easy to find things in and so on...... so my question to you girls is( i promised Kathy that i would post this so help us out!!!!!!!!!!)

What are some great ways to keep your 'Space'organized???

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks girls!
talk to you all soon!

Lynn

Beautiful card Lynn. Love your handwriting and the aged look of it. Unfortunately I don't have any good tips to share with you! I'm like a little tornado in my craft space!

Hey Lynn...to answer your question, i love the Iris snap top scrapbook cases from Michaels for organizing all my papers! They stack very neatly and are nice and clear so you can see into them, and they work great for organizing the projects you have ready to go/need to be finished. A great trick for ribbons and such as long as they're on rolls is hanging them from doweling on the wall and use the cheap little decorative wall shelf brackets to hold the doweling to make for easy access to change them. You can also get these wire baskets that are designed for hanging from the underside of a shelf that make great catch-alls, and can be moved anywhere. The really large clear plastic peanutbutter jars with lids are also great for all kinds of notions, scraps, flowers etc. maybe some of this will help you and Kathy. Good luck guys, I know how easy it is to get sucked into creating something when you're supposed to be cleaning...

great card as always lynn...tip for organizing - label everything..you think you'll remember what's in where but a lot of our time is spent looking for stuff - LABEL..since I did that my room is a lot tidier..I list everything in each box or drawer or whatever.

Loving your card this week...One thing I did recently that has made my life easier is to buy a bunch of those cool glass jars from IKEA(they are $1.99) and fill them with my buttons and letters - they work great because you can actually see everything inside. HTH!

Tehre you go again, Lynn. another amazing design.
Mine is "on the table" as we speak!!
As for storage, I put all my stash in everything I can find from biscuit tins to metal tea bag caddies to plastic mini drawers. Plus 12" x 12" plastic storage boxes for my precious papers & cardstock & of course a huge pizza box for all the scraps from every project!
As a card maker as well as scrapper these bits come in real handy.

Awesome Card Mom. I am my mother's daughter definately no useful advice here. It's not that bad though then you get to buy more things because you never know where anything is. I say it is a win situation.

i think cleaning after EVERY page done helps...but since i never do this, i think the second best thing is to have a catch all basket...
for when you finish a LO, plop all the excess supplies into the basket to put away later.
that way you can move on to the next LO if the mojo is still there...
:)
i also love the "embroidery floss" boxes for little bits and pieces. i have one for plastic embellishments, one for metals, and one for ribbon.

Oh I am so there with you! My table is a mess. My problem is if I don't see then I forget about it and I have way too much stuff. I will tell you I love using watch tins for my embellishments!

i have some storage solutions, jysk has wooden boxes that are CHEAP and you can paint them to match your room and they come in all sizes, there are handles so I hang a tag and write what co. product is inside. I also love the little vintage suitcases at winners, also not real expensive and they look so cute on the shelf!
Your card is awesome. I have to post pics of mine cuz I caught them up first when i got back. It is also FREEZING in red deer...I am wearing....SOCKS!!! GASP!

Hey Lynn. Your card is super cute, it was neat to get a peek into your worksapce! I'll just tell you what I do in my space....I have a pegboard above my desk for all my tools and unopened products, keeps it off my desk. I bought these super cute shallow wire baskets that I throw my scraps and things I haven't used on my layouts, and then once a week I put them all back where they should be! And I have a couple pen holders and jars that I throw my pens and tools into to, and MAKE myself put away the essentials each time I scrap so that it looks tidy! I'm all excited now, I'm gonna post my scrapsapce on my blog so you can see all I'm talking about! Later, A.
